5G: Secure Encrypted Network or a Gamble?
Past Events
What is 5G? How does it differ from 4G? What are the implications for how we live, work, educate and entertain? What are the security threats to societies and countries?
Do security experts in the US and UK have a ground for sounding the alarm that Chinese 5G networks are intelligence gathering tools for the Chinese government?  How will security concerns about 5G telecommunication in allied countries influence the US’ willingness to provide financial and personnel support in their defense?  Is the US pressure on the EU regarding the cooperation with Huawei legitimate? How can the EU make sure its planned 5G networks are safeguarded?  What is the strategy of the Hungarian Government?
The Danube Institute will explore these issues with experts in the field:
Vilmos Both, Consultant, Digital Success Programme of Hungary
Matt F. Joyce, Political Military Officer in the Headquarters of US European Command
Csaba Krasznay, Assistant Professor, National University of Public Service; Program Manager of the NUPS Cybersecurity Academy
Robert Spalding, III-Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force, Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute
