Nick Cater is a writer, broadcaster and public policy analyst based in Sydney. He is a former executive director and current senior fellow at the Menzies Research Centre. He has contributed a weekly column to The Australian for over ten years and posts regularly on Substack. Cater is a regular contributor to Sky News Australia and hosts Reality Bites on the independent Digital network ADH TV. Cater is the author of The Lucky Culture and the rise of an Australian Ruling Class published by Harper Collins in 2013. Cater graduated in Sociology at the University of Exeter and began his career in journalism at the BBC. He moved to Australia in 1989 to join News Corporation where he worked in senior editorial roles at the Daily Telegraph and The Australian. He is married to Rebecca Weisser.
