If you are interested in foreign policy, Hungary’s international relations, and its position in the geopolitical landscape, this is your chance!

The Danube Institute is now accepting applications for its paid internship program starting in February 2025.

What We Offer
The program provides students with first-hand insight into the work of the Danube Institute by allowing them to participate in our events, communication and organizational processes, and contribute to our blog. Interns will have the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, communication, analytical, and journalistic skills while gaining references and deeper knowledge of international affairs related to Hungary.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assisting the research, communication, and event management teams
  • Helping to organize and coordinate events and conferences
  • Editing and contributing analytical articles to the Danube Institute Blog

What We Provide

Application Process

  • English-language CV with a photo
  • Motivation letter (max. 2500 characters)
  • English-language essay (700–1500 words, in a reader-friendly style) on one of the following topics: 
      • The Changing Global Order
      • U.S. Domestic Politics
      • The Political and Geopolitical Impact of the Russia–Ukraine War

Requirements

✔ Interest in foreign policy
✔ Excellent command of Hungarian and English (additional foreign languages are an advantage)
✔ Strong communication skills
✔ Creativity, independence, and ability to work in a team
✔ Proactive attitude
