Internship

If you are passionate about foreign policy, Hungary's international relations, and its place in the geopolitical landscape, the Danube Institute is the place for you!

The Danube Institute is accepting applications for its paid internship program, starting in February 2025.

The aim of our internship program is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the Danube Institute's operations. Interns will participate in our events, communication, and organizational processes, as well as contribute to the editing of our institute’s blog. Additionally, successful candidates will gain insights into international developments related to Hungary, develop critical thinking, and enhance their communication, analytical, and journalistic skills.

Interns will be involved in various tasks, including supporting the institute's research, communication, and event organization teams, preparing and assisting at events and conferences, and editing and contributing analytical articles to the Danube Institute Blog.

Program Details:

  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend during the program.
  • The internship is part-time.

Application Requirements:

  • A CV with a photo in English
  • A motivation letter (maximum 2,500 characters)
  • An essay in English on one of the following topics (700–1,500 words, written in an engaging style):
    • The Changing World Order
    • U.S. Domestic Politics
    • The Russia–Ukraine War

Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Interest in foreign policy
  • Proficiency in written and/or spoken Hungarian and English (knowledge of an additional relevant foreign language is an advantage)
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Creativity, independence, and openness to teamwork
  • Proactivity
