Nicholas Naquin (Ph.D., Princeton University, 2013) wrote his doctoral thesis on Erasmus of Rotterdam's Patristic scholarship. He has a BA / MA from the Johns Hopkins University in European History (2003), a MSt from Oxford University in Hebrew and Jewish Studies (2006) and a MA in European History from Princeton University (2008). He is also a former officer in the United States Army, where he served as an infantry officer in units such as the 173RD Airborne Brigade, the Airborne Ranger Training Brigade and the 82ND Airborne Division. His many military qualifications include the Ranger course, the Master Parachutist rating and completion of the Colombian Army's International Lancero Course in 2019. Dr. Naquin was also previously an enlisted soldier in the French Foreign Legion. He has operational and training experiences in Afghanistan, the Ukraine, Colombia, Israel and throughout Europe. He speaks six languages at the B2-C2 level (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, German) and also communicates effectively in Modern Hebrew and Levantine Arabic. He also is a lifelong student of Latin and a newer but enthusiastic student of Biblical Greek. He lives between Rome and Jerusalem.
