Prof. Anthony O'Hear

Anthony O'Hear is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Buckingham and Head of the Department of Education. For 25 years, between 1994 and 2019 he was Director of the Royal Institute of Philosophy and editor of its journal Philosophy. During his time at the Institute, its activities have increased remarkably: he initiated many programs that are still active today, placing great emphasis on education and public awareness. He was advisor to several UK governments on education policy. He was appointed OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in the New Year's Honours List in 2018.
