Is It Time for a New Global Monetary Order?

The Danube Institute presents the fourth instalment of the Unknown Knowns: Adventures in the New Economics—a 2025 panel series, Is It Time for a New Global Monetary Order?

In this panel we will explore the question of whether we need a new global monetary architecture. With the enormous changes we are seeing in the system of global trade, the rise in the price of gold, and the potential end of US dollar hegemony we discuss whether it is time to return to the debates at the end of the Second World War and reconsider a truly multilateral monetary system for a multipolar world.
