Europe and the euro: the crisis goes on

A lecture by Josef Joffe on the crisis of the euro and the myth of America's decline at the Danube Institute in Budapest, Hungary. The lecture is followed by responses from Zoltán Pogátsa (West Hungarian University) and Tibor Mándi (ELTE). Josef Joffe co-founded the foreign policy journal The American Interest with Zbigniew Brzezinski and Francis Fukuyama in 2005. He is publisher-editor of the German weekly Die Zeit and former columnist and editorial page editor of Süddeutsche Zeitung. A visiting professor at Stanford University since 2004 and fellow of the Hoover Institution. He has a taught at Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Munich. He is a regular contributor to the op-ed pages of Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, and Newsweek.
