Free Market Road Show I. Budapest 2016

On March 10th the Danube Institute co-hosted the Free Market Road Show, a remarkable intellectual caravan presently winding its way through 45 capitals in Europe and the Caucasus – from Scandinavia to Turkey, from Spain to Ukraine. It was the second occasion on which the Road Show has visited Budapest. Started in 2008 by Barbara Kolm, the director of the Austrian Economics Center, the Free Market Road Show brings together economists, opinion formers and politicians as well as prominent business leaders every year to discuss current economic problems and possible solutions at a variety of European venues. The main subjects of the Budapest event were wealth and jobs creation in Europe, the EU crisis, and tax harmonisation.
