Kristóf György Veres holds a PhD in history from Eötvös Loránd University. Earlier he was a researcher at the Budapest-based Migration Research Institute. Starting in September 2021, he worked for 14 months for the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington D.C. as an Andrássy National Security Fellow. He joined the team of the Danube Institute as a senior researcher in July 2023. He was put in charge of international relations in February 2024, the same time he joined the Center for the National Interest as a visiting research fellow. During his career he has given conference presentations in English, French, and Hungarian, his writings have been published in The National Interest, Newsweek, The Washington Examiner, Think Global Health, The Jewish News Syndicate and Providence Magazine. His research focuses on irregular migration, Ukrainian refugees in Europe, and Russian disinformation in the CEE region.
